Artist statement

My paintings develop through accumulation, erasure, and revision. Rather than constructing an image from the outset, I build surfaces that continually shift until something begins to emerge. Every layer remains partially present, carrying the memory of previous decisions and allowing the painting to record its own history.

Working primarily in oil, I move between drawing and painting, balancing deliberate structure with chance. Scraping, glazing, covering, and exposing become ways of testing perception—allowing forms to hover between recognition and abstraction. Images are not illustrated but discovered through the material process itself.
